What Do I Think About Music? Ask Her.

Music is a very controversial, and difficult issue to deal with. I have meditated on possibly posting a series on what I believe on the subject, but I have decided to forgoe that idea…

…because I agree with someone who already wrote a series on it that is really well presented and very well studied. Read her series, and then ask me what I think about it. It is Biblical, logical, and out of the box.

It is in three parts, so I have included all three links, as well as a link to her blog. She has many other subjects that she tackles in the same Biblical, logical, and paradigm shattering manner as this.

A Topic of Discord: the Great Music Debate, Part 1, The Meekness of Wisdom

A Topic of Discord: the Great Music Debate, Part 2, The Insignia of Baal

A Topic of Discord: the Great Music Debate, Part 3, The Message and the Messenger

Enjoy yourself, and tell me what you think!

Link Serendipity

When I am not coding or writing, I am reading. Sometimes I read books (or rather, most of the time). Sometimes I read blogs. When I first entered the blogosphere, I had about five blogs that I read, and I went to each site individually each day. That list grew very rapidly as I got more involved in things. I eventually started using Google Reader, which immediately trebled and quadrupled my list. Then I found Google’s Bundles, and I immediately added a couple hundred more feeds!

Needless to say, the consequence of all these feeds was the persistent state of being about 1500 posts behind in my reader (or more, I don’t know since it doesn’t count past 1000). But it still makes it easier for me to keep up with the ten or so top blogs and sites that I absolutely love. As another post in Saturday Serendipity, I want to share with you some of these ones for your perusal and benefit. Let me know which ones you like!

Of course, it is almost prerequisite for me to mention the Rebelution at least in passing. It has changed my life, and even if it hadn’t, being a Moderator on the forums should impel me to promote it. 🙂 Of course, most of my readers already know a lot about it, but if you do not, feel ashamed if you do not examine this sight deeply.

This blog is one of my top favorites. The authoress really thinks through things in a very refreshing, Biblical, and out-of-the-box way. There are very few things that we disagree on, which is amazing. Read her posts on modesty and music, and you will see what I mean.

This is an amazing site on writing of almost any kind. Their articles are good training for fiction writers, copywriters, or even readers who are interested in the art of writing.

This is a blog of an author friend of mine, who is looking to get her first novel published. I love her perspectives on the various aspects of writing Christian fantasy.

Here is another Christian fantasy fiction blog, by another author friend of mine (I have a lot of those). I refer to him quite often in search of resources.

That’s all for now, folks! Of course there are a lot more I could mention, but you can always go browsing through the links on my sidebar to find those. 🙂

With joy and peace in Christ,

Jay Lauser
